| The hieroglyph above represents
the goddess Sechat's crown. Its name is made up of sech (what has been written)
and hat (house). Sechet means writing (sech, written and t, feminine). The
goddess was the female companion of the god Djhout (knowledge). She was
the house of writing, the library, or one who guarded documents. The emblem
consists of a pair of horns (oup) meaning openness. Here they are upside
down showing that hieroglyphic writing is closed or hidden. The open flower
indicates that the full flowering of a being comes from within. |
